Davis, Benjamin: 1856

On June 14 1856, Benjamin Frank Davis was murdered by Christian Mason Hocker in Williamsburg.  On July 16, 1856, the commissioners of Blair County employer S. Calvin and Thad. Banks to assist District Attorney Hammond.   Attorneys Blair and Hofius provided the defense.  He was sent to the Penitentiary, and pardoned by Governor Packer in 1859.
