Gardner, Infant: 1881

Annie Gardner was indicted for the murder of her infant child before the Blair County court in August of 1881. The audience was quiet as Defense attorney W.I. Woodcock and J.D. Hicks for the prosecution spoke. The judges were Stewart, Dean, and Gamble. The jury went out at 11:30 a.m., and returned at 2:00 p.m. They reached a conclusion of guilty on the second count, but not on the first.
