McGaughlin, Patrick: 1854

The last number of the Hollidaysburg Standard gives an account of a murder perpetrated at a wedding party a short time since, at which there were present some forty Irishmen and three Americans. A dispute arose over a game of "dominoes," and a general fight took place. In the melee, an Irishman, named Patrick McGlaughlin, was stabbed, by whom it is not known. An inquest was held, at which a mass of incongruous and contradictory testimony was offered, and it was thought best to arrest two Americans, named Hendrickson and Reed, who were committed to jail for a further hearing.
