Reffner, Tammie: 2008
On April 18, 2008, at about 10:00 a.m., Robert Reffner shot and killed his wife, Tammie Reffner, just outside their house. He called relatives and informed them as to what he had done, and that he was going to shoot himself. The relatives called the Pennsylvania State Police, who responded. Investigating officer, Trooper Scott Plank, found both Robert and Tammie, dead of gunshot wounds, inflicted by a handgun. Coroner Patricia Ross pronounced them both dead at the scene. Tammie was 49 years old at the time of her murder. Robert Reffner was also 49.

I just happened upon this website and want whomever created it to know that I think this is a great way to recognize and honor those murdered in our area. I knew Robert Reffner from when we went to nursing school together. I can’t begin to tell you the shock and sadness I felt when I heard this horrific news. I can’t understand how he committed this heinous act on someone he supposedly loved.
