Thalhauser, Joseph: 1935

The first degree murder conviction of Joseph Schratzmeier of Blair County was commuted by Governor George M. Leader on the recommendation of the State Pardons Board in December, 1955. He had previously requested commutation in 1946.  Schratzmeier had pleaded insanity; the jury found him guilty in the first degree.

Joseph Schratzmeier died in Westmoreland County on March 25, 1989.
